August 2024

Dear ,

I hope you had an incredible summer. This year I went to the ADA Scientific Sessions in Orlando and the ADCES conference in New Orleans, and I want to say thank you to the many people who stopped me and said they enjoyed listening to the podcast, or the pod had helped them navigate their life with Diabetes.

August 2024 marks 9 years since I took that trip to Colombia and came up with the idea that became Diabetics Doing Things. We've come so far since then - we're about to cross episode 300! Our 3rd Diabetes Legends Basketball clinic is September 14! We're planning the 2024 DDT Pickleball Classic and are setting a goal of 100 teams. We're working on our first collaboration with the International Diabetes Federation.

There have been times recently where I question if I am doing the right things, but the many interactions with members of the community this summer, I am more sure than ever that my life's work is Diabetics Doing Things, and I'm going to continue to push forward to share the amazing things people with Diabetes are doing, and create more opportunities for us to connect with each other IRL.

But we couldn't do any of it without

YOU

So check out our

, be patient with us while we grow up our operations and get ready for more value for people with diabetes from DDT.

And, if you want to get in the back-to-school spirit, check out our

Mom's Night Out Denver - 9/20-21Our friends from Diabetes Connections are bringing the amazing event Mom's night out to Denver Colorado on September 20-21. This is a conference designed for mothers of children with diabetes, with a focus on type 1. They will not turn any adult in the diabetes community away, but all of our programming is geared to moms. Please, no children in the conference space, this is meant to be a relaxing kid-free respite. Rob spoke at Mom's night out in Frisco, TX in 2023 and it was an amazing event. Paid Opportunity: BEAD T1D Research StudyWe are excited to invite you to participate in an initiative by Stanford Medicine focused on addressing disparities in Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) care and technology. We are gathering insights from parents/guardians of youths with T1D and young individuals (ages 12-21) living with T1D to better understand their experiences with diabetes technology.
