This season in the WNBL 1, Australia’s top Women’s Professional Basketball League, two women with T1D will suit up in what many consider the best league outside the WNBA. While there have been instances of multiple athletes with T1D on opposite sidelines in the NFL, Mark Andrews and DeAndre Carter both play offense, so technically they will never matchup against each other.

For Lauren Cox and Lara McSpadden, this season they’ve become the first two women with T1D to compete against each other in professional sport, and since they are both post players, they will literally collide in their three matchups this season.

On Friday, December 19 at 10p CT (8P PST) Rob is hosting a live stream on youtube where we will watch the game together and celebrate these incredible women with T1D do what they do best.

Reigning defensive player of the year Lauren Cox and the Townsville Fire enter the game half a game out of first place in the WNBL (9-2) while McSpadden and the Sydney Flames look to climb up the standings and improve their record (3-9).
