Introducing: More Than A Diabetic

We've been up to something! At the end of 2020 we set out to tell the stories of BIPOC people with Diabetes and the obstacles they face that are often ignored and rarely discussed at large in the Diabetes community. The result of that exploration is 4 episodes with 15 panelists discussing some of the biggest challenges for BIPOC people in the Diabetes community. This series focuses on important topics like medical racism, representation in the Diabetes community and how we can collectively as a community do better to support our BIPOC brothers and sisters with Diabetes. The episodes are as follows:

  • Episode 1: Medical Racism, Misdiagnosis & Stereotypes - LIVE NOW on Youtube and Podcast platforms

  • Episode 2: Diabetes Nonprofits & Representation - (January 19th)

  • Episode 3: Diabetes, Atiana Jefferson & Black Lives Matter - (January 22nd)

  • Episode 4: Microaggression and the things people say to people with Diabetes online- (January 26th)

You can also check out our Introductory Episode where Eritrea and I discuss the series, here

Keep it locked on the podcast as well as our YouTube channel, where we will include the full video interviews of all our episodes.
